Generational poverty is a phrase applied to families that have experienced poverty for two or more generations. Prevailing knowledge states that children born into impoverished families experience shame, high levels of high school dropout, teen pregnancy, and psychological issues.
This membership level allows up to 4 family members, at or below the poverty threshold and 14 years or older, to become bronze members, at a reduced membership fee. This membership level is designed to have a positive impact on generational poverty, by getting the children, of impoverished families involved at an early stage. Although 14 years of age is a little young for a child to enter into the workforce, Florida’s Child Labor laws allow kids, at this age and under specific conditions and hours, to do so. Families, at or below the poverty threshold, would benefit greatly when all family members are able to contribute to the family’s income.
