When Communities Thrive, People Thrive!

It takes a community to understand the needs of a community. Our mission’s objectives are community revitalization, poverty alleviation, and generational poverty mitigation. To accomplish these objectives we have put into place a platform aimed at accomplishing our mission’s objectives in a variety of ways. First and foremost, creating an active and engaged membership base, secondly identifying projects that would have an immediate positive impact on the needs and aesthetics of the community, and finally coordinating the implementation of the selected project.

With that concept, as a guiding light, projects are selected, debated, and voted on by the active members of PPN, and once decisions are made, based on available capital and feasibility studies, selected projects are implemented through the Affiliate Services Program.

Imagine visiting a business in your community whose employees are individuals from your community, and possibly a relative or someone you know. This, and other services normally provided by outside service providers, are now being provided by individuals from your community.

One of the tenets of The Poor People’s Network is community revitalization. This is accomplished via our Community Share Program. When a given community, i.e., county, reaches a sufficient number of Active Level Members, it becomes eligible for a community project to be voted on by the active members, and once confirmed, the selected projects are implemented through the Affiliate Services Program.

This accomplishment sets off a sequence of activities, such as employment and opportunities for our commercial members.

Shared Entrepreneurship Experience

The Affiliate Services Program’s guiding principle is based upon the fact that each member has one vote when deciding how fees are appropriated for community projects. The Operating Agreement list, along with PPN’s by-laws, members’ rights, and responsibilities, relative to the implementation of PPN’s Mission and Vision Statements.

Membership/Ownership

Upon joining any of PPN’s active membership levels, members are also included in the Affiliate Services Program as well. When community projects are selected and implemented, through the affiliate service program, affiliates, using a self-directive, democrative worker cooperative concept would be utilyzed to accomplice the mission’s objective. Once a project is proven to be successful, then the process of duplication takes place and opens the door to more jobs, and profit sharing.

Multiple Streams of Revenue

This concept is not uncommon, regarding the creation of multiple streams of revenue. You see it in franchises and other commercial entities. Once a project is considered to be profitable, it can be duplicated in other communities as well.
