Rhetorical in nature, but a significant question nonetheless. Change starts with a simple idea, similar to the parable concerning the Mustard Seed. Sowing the seed for change takes a little bit of courage, insomuch as the outcome is uncertain. One of the most powerful traits an individual possesses is courage, the willingness to stand up for something. Courage is displayed in different ways, by different individuals. Nevertheless, when a group of individuals display a willingness to accept a challenge, in the face of uncertainty, is certainly courageous and worthy of being praised.

Winston Churchill once said, “Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak; courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen.” The seed of hope, faith, and charity has been planted by PPN, and we hope it grows. Have you the courage to change today?

We don’t have to do it perfectly to make a difference. You don’t have to stay stuck in a state of poverty either.

A New Solution to Old Problems

Poverty is created, not by poor people, but by their circumstances. Change their circumstances and poverty disappears quickly. But how do you change circumstances, especially for individuals that have disabilities or short on skills? We believe that our platform, along with our Affiliate Services Program, provides answers to that old problem. Being a nonprofit, membership-based organization, our standardized work system allows any employee, at any level, to become productive at any task by following a predetermined format required to complete tasks. By repeating the task, and mastering it, the employee will begin to contribute to continuous improvement. Our Affiliate Services Program is designed to provide a path forward for all individuals, regardless of their skills.

America’s economy is based primarily on capitalism, and as such, excludes most of us. By using our Affiliate Services Program, we believe we will provide that new solution to that old problem.

Beware of The Winds of Change

Change, from a negative point of view, can happen quickly. Reversing it, in most cases,could take a considerable amount of time. For example, Roe v. Wade (abortion free will overturned) and now, affirmative action.

Life sometimes presents a fork in the road and as such, choices, good or bad, have to be made. The thing about choices is good choices brings good consequences and, likewise bad choices bring bad consequences.

The Poor People’s Network was built for situations like this. Join our group and began creating good consequences. Fear of committing to a cause you are unfamiliar with is a natural instinct. Our Mission’s objective is, not only to expose poverty and it’s effect on communities throughout our state, but find ways to have a positive impact on reducing it.

Road blocks to change are inevitable but with the right mindset, they can help you grow. When things get difficult, the common frame of reference is, the odds of overcoming the roadblock are too low, its impossible, and it not going to happen.

Now when you think about tasks & goals, you can’t attain anything worth attaining unless you actually put in the work. We all wish for instant gratification, but sometimes change takes time. However there is safety in small beginnings and there is unlimited capital in the experience gained by growing.

A Maze or Amazing?

Those of you who grew up under impoverished conditions and were able to overcome the challenges of changing your economic failures from where your journey began, count your accomplishment as amazing. As such, a comfortable, and perhaps elaborate lifestyle was achieved.

On the other hand, countless others have failed to navigate themselves through the maze of paths through which one has to find a way out. This group of individuals and families represents the millions of Floridians residing at or below the poverty threshold.

The benefit of joining any of our active memberships is the “Buy One, Bring One project” established by Poor People’s Network. This project is designed to have an impact in two areas: membership growth and allowing an individual, at or below the poverty threshold and a member of our Free Access Group, to be admitted for free, upon approval, as an Associate Active Member. This membership level will have no profit-sharing, partnership, or ownership status until they have purchased an active-level membership. It does allow them to work on various PPN projects, which would allow them to earn income that allows them to purchase an active-level

Difficult Roads, Beautiful Destinations

An estimated 2.8 million people, in Florida, are living in impoverished conditions. However, the cycle of poverty, especially generational poverty, can be broken. What one individual cannot accomplish, many can, with resources and commitment.

Prevailing knowledge states that children born into impoverished families experience shame, high levels of high school dropout, pregnancy, and psychological issues. By supporting our group, you have taken the first step in helping combat poverty in all of its forms.

The year 2023 could become an inflection point for individuals and families looking to improve their economic status.

I read that individual and economic freedoms are interconnected. One affects the other and both must be supported by genuine virtue and a deep sense of personal responsibility.

Generational Poverty, a term applied to families who have experienced poverty for at least two generation, is, in my opinion the polar opposite of Generational Wealth. Like groundhog day, it keeps repeating.

For too many families are trapped in this lifestyle. The good news, however, is that this cycle can be broken with the right support and commitment.

When Communities Thrive, People Thrive

Imagine visiting a store in your community whose employees are individuals from your community, and furthermore, possibly a relative or someone you know. This, and other services normally provided by outside service providers, are now being provided by individuals from your community.

One of the tenets of The Poor People’s Network is community revitalization. This is accomplished via our community share program. When a given community, i.e., county, reaches a sufficient level of Active Level Members, a business entity can be voted on by the membership base, and once confirmed placed in their community, by way of the Affiliate Services Programs.

This accomplishment sets off a sequence of activities, such as employment and opportunities for our commercial members.

Now, we realize that not everyone wants to become actively involved in our cause but wants to support our cause. This category, PWW (pay what you want) allows you to just make a donation.
