We Support Families and Individuals to Help Provide A Pathway Out Of The Poverty Threshold Level

WHAT WE DO

— We Find & Fund

As an active member of PPN, you get to help create a vibrant and engaged group for combatting poverty in all of its forms. Funds, generated via membership subscriptions, donations, and other sources are earmarked for our Affiliate Services and Community Share Projects.

— We Build Networks

The Poor People’s Network, in itself, is a network consisting of its members, sponsors, and affiliates. When community projects are properly implemented, Job opportunities, for individuals and families, benefit from this activity. The Poor People’s Network aims to provide resources and support to families and impoverished individuals to help them achieve financial stability.

— We Strengthen Our Community

Imagine visiting a store in your community whose employees are individuals from your community, and possibly a relative or someone you know. This, and other services normally provided by outside service providers, are now being provided by individuals from your community.

One of the tenets of The Poor People’s Network is community revitalization. This is accomplished via our community share program. When a given community, i.e., county, reaches sufficient number of Active Level Members, a business entity is voted on by the membership base, and once confirmed placed in their community.

This accomplishment sets off a sequence of activities, such as employment and opportunities for our commercial members.

— We Educate

Active members of PPN are automatically included the the Affiliate Services Program and help create the resources required to fill positions, as needed when community projects are created. Once projects are implemented, members are selected, based on experience, to fill the needs of the project. Training is ongoing and prepares each member for the next level. This practice allows for upward mobility.

Partnership

Poor People’s Network, Inc is a nonprofit, membership based corporation and, by way of it’s Affililiate Services Program, adopts the principles of a self-directed, democratic worker cooperative via its affliliates or subsidiaries. When successfully implemented, members not only gain employment, they also become co-owners as well.

— We Consult

As an active group member, you have more power than you know. Starting with project selection, members, by the voting process of one vote per active member, determine what type of projects to initiate and the order in which they are undertaken.

The children are our future. Eliminating generational poverty begins here. As an active member, and participant in any of our worker cooperative projects, your children benefit from your vested interest, which could be passed on to your children.

Generational poverty mitigation can start, via our Family Membership Level. As in any worker cooperative business, members have what is deemed an ownership interest, an asset. This legal document can be passed on to relatives in the form of wills.
